Driving Lesson Faults

One of the biggest faults when you are on a driving lessons is that people don’t check their blindspot and mirrors as often as they should. In fact on the DSA web site there is a top 10 list of the reasons people fail, and they all come down to observations.

This isn’t just true on driving lessons, for those who are having Driving Instructor Training, this is also a very common fault. We do Driving Instructor Training in places such as Cannock, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Bolton, Manchester and Romford and no matter where you go, the faults remain the same.

If it were just pupils you could argue its the result of cheap driving lessons or the Intensive Driving Courses but these are people that have been driving for many years and are now becoming a driving instructor!

The top of all fault lists is observations at junctions. I’m sure every driving school from Birmingham, to London, to Hartlepool is forever telling people to look right, left, right BEFORE pulling out. Unfortunately not many people seem to remember to do this.

Driving Instructor Training

Prospective driving instructors are advised by the Driving Standards Agency to train to become a driving instructor with an ORDIT registered trainer.

Following discussions between the Driving Standards Agency and representatives from the driver training industry it was agreed that in the prospective driving instructor’s and the general public’s best interests it would be best served by there being a single register of suitably qualified and inspected trainers and training establishments. ORDIT the official register of driving instructor training is that directory.

Its objectives are to establish and maintain acceptable standards of driving instructor training for those trainers and training establishments who wish to have their names entered onto the official register of driving instructor training. The register is run by the Driving Standards Agency.

For information on Becoming A Driving Instructor or Instructor Training why not call us.

ORDIT trainers have undergone very thorough inspections of their work. The DSA Supervising Examiners (ADI) conducts these inspections.

We are on the ORDIT register and our belief is that sometime in the near future it will become law that only ORDIT registered trainers will be allowed to train people how to become approved driving learner-driver-driving-instructors.

We offer adi part 2 training, adi part 3 training, Driving School Franchises and Instructor Training nationwide.

Unfortunately within this industry there are a number of very dubious trainers and instructor training groups that have sprung up over the last 5 to 10 years. Some of these trainers are in fact learner driver instructors who have little or no experience of teaching people how to become an instructor, and some training groups seem to be more concerned in getting as many people as possible to hand over large sums of money with little or no incentive to get you qualified. Regrettably they seem to show more skill at getting your money than they are at training.

Driving Instructors or Empty Car Park?

Driving Instructors: Better Than An Empty Car Park

On any given Sunday morning, in the empty parking lot of a department store, you are sure to find an uncertain car with a teenager at the wheel and a very nervous parent as passenger. Learning to drive is a time-honoured tradition and represents a transition from child to young adult. Though many parents may dread the day that their child comes up to them dangling the keys and begging for lessons, they eventually give in and teach their child how to drive. However, this act may not be the smartest or even the safest.

Using a driving instructor is a helpful way to teach teenagers to drive in a structured and safe environment. And while parents mean well and truly want their children to learn properly, driving instructors will not pass on bad habits to the teenager that parents may do absent-mindedly. Driving instructors are highly trained and understand how to teach the skills needed to ensure that the teenager or any new driver can pass the driving test and maintain safe habits throughout their driving careers.

Driver Training understand this need and that’s why we have instructors in Aldridge, Cannock, Walsall, Wolverhampton and Birmingham.

Driving schools and instructors often have their own cars that will be used to teach the student. At the end of the course, the student will use this car on the driving test. The instructors car will be very well maintained and will pass the stringent requirements for the car in order to be used in the actual test. This will benefit the student since being at ease and comfortable with the vehicle will make it far easier to pass the test.

The instructors begin at the basics when teaching a new student. They start with the car, making sure the student is familiarized with basic driving features and engine components. Once this is done, such skills as braking smoothly, turning, parking and reversing are explored. The instructor will determine when the student is ready for more advanced skills and will work with the student at their own pace until all the skills are honed. Driving instructors understand all the nuances and laws of the road and can easily communicate them to the student in such a manner as to be easily understood.

Unlike parents or other would-be instructors, a trained and professional driving instructor has the ability to teach the skills that students will need not only to simply pass the test, but to maintain safe driving behaviour and habits once out on the road alone.
