Police Driving training manual updated for Eco-driving

An new updated version of the police driving training manual to include advice on eco-driving and new details on the pursuit training. If was launched last week by the association of chief police officers.

This is to provide the police force driving schools with a framework to build and develop driving courses around.

The major changes are guidelines on how to drive in an economic way and a way that is better for the environment. All police officers that drive a police vehicle are required to be trained to the minimum standard.

Aside from the police all companies and individuals should consider learning to drive in a more economic and eco friendly way to cut their fuel costs and carbon footprints. Companies in particular have a corporate responsibility to reduce their carbon foot print as well as to make sure that all drivers of company vehicles are suitably trained and qualified.

Companies should also consider it from a PR perspective. Introducing eco-driving can be a great PR and marketing angle to show that you are doing your bit for the environment and get more positive press coverage.

Driver Training Ltd can provide fleet training for your business to teach eco-driving, safe driving and more. By providing your fleet with advanced driver training you can not only reduce your insurance premiums and have safer drivers on the road.

Driver Training can also arrange for some free PR for all companies that take part with 5 or more drivers.

Fuel Stock Piles Plunge as Summer Driving Increases

There is nothing better than a drive on a nice sunny evening and driving holidays are becoming more and more popular. As the summer gets hotter people are using their cars more around the world.

Because of this, unfortunately, it means that we are using more fuel as a result. The first sign of this is the fuel prices rising as once again we can see on forecourts around the UK the price of petrol going over the pound mark yet again.

Using more fuel means that fuel and oil stocks are once again lowering.

So what can you do to stop your fuel running out and another cost of living soaring at a time when we could all do with spending less? Economic driving is a key part of conserving your fuel.

Everything from not revving the engine too much and lightening you load help use less fuel. If you take advanced driving lessons you can learn how to significantly reduce your fuel consumption.

Driver Training provides advanced driving instruction throughout the UK for experienced and newly pass drivers. We also teach all of our learner drivers the principals of economic driving as part of our standard driving lessons.
